Dr. Gilbert Patterson from ProductionVetNOW is currently visiting Iowa State University! Our Veterinary Telemedicine Platform allows students to virtually learn and be a part of farm visits.
Veterinarians from AMVC physically traveled to the sites, established a secure video portal connection, and then live-streamed their visits to the students, who remained at ISU CVM. A full assessment of each site was performed, and the students could ask questions directed towards areas of interest. Dr. Patterson stayed in the classrooms to help guide the students through the assessment and answer any questions about Veterinary Telemedicine.
The purpose of the exercise was to familiarize students with conducting virtual farm visits, and to consider how telemedicine can be best applied in swine veterinary practice.
